General Dentistry treatments we offer
Cleanings & Exams
A professional cleaning and exam clears away plaque and tartar, checks the health of your gums, and catches small problems while they are small.

Digital radiography shows decay, bone loss, and infection beneath the surface within seconds, using less radiation than the film systems it replaced.

Composite fillings repair a cavity, restore the shape and bite of the tooth, and are shaded to match the enamel around them instead of dark metal.

When a tooth cannot be saved, whether from decay, infection, crowding, or a troublesome wisdom tooth, removal is done gently and with clear aftercare.

Persistent tooth pain often means the nerve inside is infected. Root canal treatment clears the infection and keeps your natural tooth in place.

Bleeding, tender, or receding gums are early warnings worth acting on. Care ranges from a thorough cleaning to deep cleaning, matched to the stage.

Grinding and clenching wear enamel down and leave the jaw sore by morning. A nightguard made to your bite cushions teeth while you sleep.

Jaw pain, clicking, or headaches on waking? Dr. Beaty evaluates the jaw joint and muscles and starts with conservative care, including custom appliances.

Loud nightly snoring can be a sign the airway is narrowing during sleep. A custom oral appliance is one way to help hold it open.

Custom athletic mouthguards for Auburn players of every age, plus prompt care when a tooth is knocked out, cracked, or knocked out of line.
Learn more about Sports Dentistry & MouthguardsGeneral dentistry is the everyday care that keeps small problems small. It covers the routine visits most people know (a cleaning, an exam, an X-ray when something needs a closer look) along with the repairs that follow when decay or wear turns up. Dr. Heather Beaty and the team handle this work for patients of every age at our Auburn office.
What a routine visit usually involves
Most general appointments follow a familiar shape: a hygienist cleans away the plaque and hardened tartar that brushing misses, then Dr. Beaty examines your teeth, gums, and existing dental work. Images are taken only when there is a reason to look beneath the surface. If something needs attention, you will hear what the options are and what happens if you wait, before anything is scheduled.
Why the routine work matters most
Decay and gum disease both start quietly, and both are far easier to treat early. A cavity caught at an exam is usually a filling; the same cavity two years later can mean a crown or a root canal. Regular visits also give us a record of how your mouth changes over time, which makes it easier to notice when something is genuinely new.
Care for the whole household
Booking a family into one practice saves a good deal of driving. We see children through to grandparents, which means one set of records, familiar faces, and appointments that can often be arranged back to back. If it has been a while since your last visit, that is common and not something you will be lectured about.
